Her appointment places Burgos and the Correa Group at the forefront of one of Europe’s most strategic technology sectors

Our CEO Carmen Pinto has been appointed the new president of AFM Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AFM Cluster), the organisation representing the Spanish machine tool and advanced manufacturing technologies industry.

The election, which took place during the General Assembly held last week at the Kursaal in San Sebastián, consolidates Carmen Pinto’s position as one of the leading figures in the Spanish industrial sector at a crucial time when the machine tool industry is of strategic importance as the technological foundation of the entire production chain and as a determining factor in Europe’s industrial capacity.

With this appointment, the Correa Group reinforces its position as one of the country’s major industrial stakeholders and a European leader in the field of large-scale machine tools. In 2024, the advanced manufacturing and machine tool sector achieved a turnover of €2,193.11 million, representing an increase of 1.66% compared to 2023 and setting a new all-time record, reflecting the growth potential and international reach of this industry, which is key to the Spanish economy.

AFM Cluster brings together more than 800 companies from the machine tool, automation, additive manufacturing, machining, digital technologies and advanced industrial solutions sectors, representing one of the sectors with the greatest export capacity and technological impact within Spanish industry.

Carmen Pinto’s appointment as president of the AFM Cluster took place during “Advanced Manufacturing Day 2026”, an event that brought together more than 500 business and institutional representatives linked to the Spanish industrial and technological ecosystem.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the trust placed in me to take on this responsibility. It is an honour to be able to contribute to the development of a key sector for industry and to continue working, alongside all the companies in the ecosystem, on its growth, innovation and international competitiveness,” said Carmen Pinto.
